Where can I get Sheet Music for Free?

Where can I get Sheet Music for Free?
The only sites I could find make you pay for sheet music. Where can I get sheet music for free?

REPLIES

1)I have found a few good sites for you.

This one has a bunch of free sheet music:

http://pianolicious.blogspot.com/

Here is another site with a bunch:

http://pianodocs.blogspot.com

And here's another awesome site

http://pianoramic.blogspot.com

Hope this helps.

2) For me so far it's been Wikifonia.org. I like Wikifonia because it provides leadsheets, which are just perfect with chord playing methodology! Give it a try. I think you might like it.

3)try Youtube.

Music is an art form consisting of sound and silence. Elements of sound in music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, structure, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture.

The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music vary according to culture and social context. Music ranges from strictly organized compositions (and their recreation in performance), through improvisational music to aleatoric forms. Music can be divided into genres and sub-genres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to individual interpretation, and occasionally controversial. Within "the arts", music can be classified as a performing art, a fine art, or an auditory art form.

Music may also involve generative forms in time through the construction of patterns and combinations of natural stimuli, principally sound. Music may be used for artistic or aesthetic, communicative, entertainment, ceremonial or religious purposes, and by many composers purely as an academic instrument for study.

Good Time by Owl City Sheet Music

Can anyone find sheet music for Good Time by The Owl City?
Basically, I need a song to sing for an assessment at university and I recently discovered this song and fell head over heels in love with it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the sheet music anywhere so I was wondering if anyone knew if it existed/had the extreme talent to transcribe it?
Any help will be immensely appreciated.

REPLIES

1) Your best bet is private trackers. If you know people through a chat room or musical social networking sites, ask around.

2) Downloading freely available MIDI files then loading them into a score application is one way to do it.

3) I can't believe no one has suggested Wikifonia. It's all user-submitted, but the stuff I've found is pretty accurate, if limited. The bonus is that you can easily transpose to any key and export to PDF. Great for jazz standards.

I suggest  signing up for a free account at http://www.pianofiles.com/ which is a sheet music swap site. I have asked a couple of people for music, and had a couple of people ask me for music. You can search to see what people have on offer and then sent them a PM asking if they would send it to you. It's a bit old school but i suppose the site is trying to avoid the legal unpleasantries involved in any sort of hosting operation.

GUITAR TIPS
  1. Always learn new things; there are hundreds of different techniques that you can learn on guitar.
  2. If you play electric, try acoustic. If you play acoustic, try electric. If you’ve tried everything, learn Flamenco.
  3. Buy some guitar books, as many as you can. If you can’t always afford new books go to a used bookstore, they often have a section devoted to music.
  4. Take up another musical instrument, there is always cross over whether it be piano or a harmonic, your ear and improvisation will improve.
  5. Go Dancing. Seriously it will improve your rhythm.
  6. If you go to the gym and are doing cardio or even weight lifting, you can count in sets of 4. Since most music is in 4/4 time this will also help your sense of rhythm. Working out with a portable music player will also help your rhythm.
  7. If you find a song you like, instead of searching for the song on Google, try first to figure it out yourself. Use trial and error, if you do this enough your ear will improve over time and you will be amazed at how fast you can tab a song.
  8. Relax! I can’t stress this enough, learn to relax when you are playing. If your knuckles are white then that it is a huge problem.
  9. Toughen up those fingers.
  10. Experiment with different guitars. People come in different shapes and sizes, and so do guitars. Personally I prefer a guitar with a slightly wider neck, because I have bigger fingers and like to finger pick. If you are 5’2 and playing a super big dreadnought you may want to reconsider.

Where to get your sheet music

Where do you guys go to get your sheet music?
I've been looking for some fun songs to play over the summer, but I really can't spend a lot of money buying sheet music. Does anyone have any PDFs for piano parts, perhaps? Or maybe a website where I could find some decent stuff? I'll take anything you can find! Especially if it's a cover of some popular song like That would be awesome. Thank you!

REPLIES

1) Scribd.com is also a good place to look for sheet music, it's a thriving community and the only catch is that you have to upload something in return for downloading something. It's great if you arrange sheet music and share it for others to use, and then you can download music that others have arranged.

2)  If there is sheet music available for that, your the best chance of finding it, will be through a local music shop, that handles sheet music. They have a variety of sources through music publishing companies, that aren't available online. Sheet music purchased from a shop will be correctly scored versus what you can get through websites.

3) Check with a local shop that sells instruments, they can get a complete and correct copy of the lyrics. Many times people have gotten incomplete or incorrectly worded copies of lyrics from online sources. Many professional local singers, bands and groups use local shops to get their music through to be sure that it's correctly scored as well as the lyrics being correct.

1) Hi  I study film music professionally, and I must say the availability of scores is a real issue. Most *do* exist somewhere, albeit probably in a some movie studio library available only if you know the right people. There are a few good resources out there though. A few universities and private collections have a good number of scores. Check out the Alexander Courage Collection at Eastman for example. The library of congress may also be of some use though I admit I have not contacted them about film scores. Try looking at the citations in those film music guides if you want to see where the authors got their access to film music.
You probably won't find sheet music. Try looking up midi files or guitar pro files. Otherwise you'll have to transcribe it by ear.

2) As far as prices go, Sheet Music Plus is the best online sheet music store I have found. Prices are good and shipping costs are reasonable. There are also occasional discounts on shipping. For example, this week you get free shipping if you purchase $25 worth of instock merchandise. Their specials change on a regular basis, so the best way to see what they are currently offering is to browse the site.

A good site for free sheet music

Any pianists know of a good site for free sheet music?
I'm having a hard time finding sheet music for free, anyone know of a good place?

REPLIES

1) I recommend getting a free registration at noteflight.com A lot of people submit original sheet music and you can generally find scores for popular music.

2) There's no sure-fire way, but I tend to go to YouTube, find a cover I like, and check the info and comments for a link. It works about 90% of the time. If not, there's video tutorials.

3) Try digging into scribd.com. The only thing you have to do is upload one file each time you log on, but then you can download all you want until you log off. I'm a saxophonist, and I found a lot of great stuff both classical/jazz. You just have to be patient and dig a little bit. Also, the site has way more than just music, so you might enjoy checking that out too. If it doesn't work for you, I can email you some of the music I got for free.

Tips for Cleaning Piano Keys:

  1. Avoid store-bought chemicals or furniture polish. These are too abrasive, and can lead to grainy textures and discoloration. Use mild soap diluted with filtered water.

    TAYLOR SWIFT'S FREE SHEET MUSIC

Safe and Sound Taylor Swift sheet music for piano?

Safe and Sound Taylor Swift sheet music?  Hey. So I love the song Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift (ft. The Civil Wars) and I would love to play it on piano. Does anyone know a website that would have a FREE downolad for that song? Please no videos from youtube. And please check the website for the song before you tell me to make sure it is on there.

    Taylor Swift Piano Sheet help?

I'm trying to look for "The Story of Us", " Forever & Always" and "I'm Always Me When I'm With You" by Taylor Swift, Any Idea where i can get a free piano sheet music for them? Please Help...

    Free taylor swift sheet music?

Me and my friend love Taylor swift, and i was wondering if i could get free sheet music by her off the internet. I am hoping to get this by christmas, so Please help and answer my Question. My friend plays the Saxaphone and I play the violin, but i can also play piano music on my violin
pianolicious - It has the latest and most newest FREE piano sheet music, other then others that you might find there! I use it all the time to get my sheet music!!

    REPLIES
    1)  Pianolicious is a blog that is specialized in providing you the sheet music, partitures, notes, and chords for the piano that you've been looking for! You can find well over 100000 pieces of popular sheet music for the piano!

    2) Try your local library they may have some sheet music, or music books you can borrow. If they don't have any they might through the inter library exchange be able to get some for you, all you have to do is ask. Many times what you find for free online, isn't complete, has been scored correctly scored, or worse both.

    3) For a dependable copy try your nearest shops that handle instruments. If they don't have it, they are often able to get it through sources not available to everyone else. What maybe found online is not going to be dependable in correct or complete. In some cases you will find only partial scores, and not the full score, whether it's in notation, chord, or letter scoring.

    4) Since you want free, try the local library. Anything that you get online is going either be wrong, or incomplete. Otherwise you're better off trying to get it from a local shop that gives lessons, and orders sheet music, for musicians. It shouldn't that expensive to buy a copy, that will be correct and complete.

  • Cloths should be only slightly dampened, and keys should be wiped towards you. Wiping side-to-side can allow moisture to seep between keys and cause damage.

Hi guys! I tried every way to learn this song and play the whole song but it's really hard and I can't read sheet music really well. I keep searching for this song's note ( both for L and R hand ) but I can't find it. I really love to learn how to play this song. I would appreciate if someone give me a site, write the notes, any video tutorials that got the notes and shows how to play.......etc
Hopefully someone could help me. Plzzzzzzz I really want to play this song on piano.

1)That's a really new song, I don't think you'll find the sheet music on the Internet right now, and even  in a sheet music store won't be published yet. If you can find it right now , I'll will run naked around a tree.

    2) I'm pretty sure you'll hit the right note here  ( sheet music links)

Best Site to Buy Sheet Music

Good sites to buy sheet music?-

I'm looking for a good website I can buy/get free popular song's sheet music. Also, more specifically, I'm looking for the sheet music to "Lights" by Ellie Goulding. Anything would be helpful, thanks!

    2) Why buy it if you can get it for free?

    3) I actually don't know.. I've been playing for 3 years, and I find playing modern popular music by ear helps me with my skills.. I don't know if you want to consider that. but that's what I do. it takes awhile, but it feels so good when you know you can play the song by ear, and you didn't need sheets for it. :) good luck though

    4) If there's a big music store in your area that specialises in instruments you'll usually find the sheet music in those. I've also found some sheet music on eBay, too.

Sheet music -- where to get some online?

anyone know where i can get free or cheap sheet music/song books online?? i'm currently taking up voice lessons and what i'm looking for are broadway songs and mostly pop/rock songs. i love the 80s rock power ballads and would also love to get some new stuff like kelly clarkson or alicia keys. i don't want to get a song book with just like one or two songs that i know. So maybe it's best if i got just sheet music. I know there's a site where i could download some and print it myself...anyone know where i could get those?

    Thanks!

    How to Clean a Piano

When it comes to pianos, cleaning and polishing are two different actions. Polishing should be kept to a bare minimum. Dust is ideally removed by a feather duster, and dusting with a dry cloth should be avoided at all costs; a dry cloth will allow the dust to scratch the finish.
    1. If dusting with a cloth, always use a soft fabric such as flannel or chamois. Never use rags or )paper towels.

Where can I get online sheet music?

Where can I get online sheet music?

The Sheet Music Plus website is well-designed, easy on the eyes and a breeze to navigate. Buttons across the top of the page bring up drop-down menus so you can easily find what you are looking for. For example, if you hover your curser over the "piano" tab at the top of the page, it pulls up a variety of options such as piano solo, piano duet, CD's, etc. Other buttons include genre, instruments, guitar, ensembles, voice, gifts, top sellers, A-Z, digital, format, and sale. If you don't want to use these buttons, you can use the general searc box located at the top right of the home page. The search function is well-designed and works very well. If you want your searc to be more specific, you can go midway down the page and click on "piano sheet music", "choral sheet music" or "classical sheet music", which will bring you to another page with a myriad of choices and search options to narrow down what you are looking for.
Just type the singer name or the song title in the search box below.

Pianofiles.com is a great music sharing site but you'll need to register (for free) and then search for the sheet and send an email to the person who has it. In the message you give them your email address and then wait for them to email it to you.
Go to www.imslp.org ( International Music Score Library Project )
It's a website that contains more than 500 000 pdf sheets which u can download scores for FREE!!
